Inspiration

These days, I find inspiration seems to be waiting for me around every corner. If only time and inspiration would get in sync so time would give me enough to create what inspiration has offered…I’d be a production machine. During a recent glance through Food and Wine magazine, I came across a beautiful set of knives complete with a leather roll-up case and I pondered, as I often do, could I make myself a chef’s knife? I asked the Iron Artisan himself and he just happened to have some Sheffield steel that he brought back from Sheffield, England many, many years ago. He offered the steel for our project and we began. It is very hard steel even when it is red hot so patience and muscle are necessities. If it looks beautiful and carves the turkey just right, maybe we will have a new product for sale. Stay tuned!
